Sotik: The County government of Bomet has made significant progress in constructing the Etyetab Tindinyek Bridge across the Sisei River in Kipsonoi Ward, Sotik Sub-county, a project eagerly anticipated by locals. The all-season bridge will connect Kipsonoi and Rongena Manaret wards, addressing challenges faced by residents and travelers who have long relied on a makeshift bridge.

According to Kenya News Agency, the County Administration has indicated that the new bridge will supplement the existing footbridge, which has primarily served pedestrians and light motorcycles. The new structure will accommodate larger vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable movement across the river.

For years, residents have struggled to access essential services such as markets, schools, and health facilities due to the lack of a reliable crossing. The completion of this bridge is expected to enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activity, and improve the quality of life for the community.

County Director of Roads, Transport, and Public Works, Eng. Kipkemoi Ngeno, assured the public of quality workmanship and standards during an earlier inspection tour, emphasizing the project’s timely completion. He noted that this bridge is part of Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok’s broader initiative to develop road infrastructure in the County, ensuring safe, reliable, and all-weather roads and bridges.

Upon completion, the bridge is anticipated to boost the local economy by improving connectivity and transport for area residents, aligning with the Barchok administration’s vision.
