Mumbuni: Anthony Kisoi of Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) has emerged victorious in the competitive Mumbuni North Member of County Assembly (MCA) by-election, securing the seat with 3,849 votes. Kisoi faced significant competition from Harrison Wambua of Maendeleo Chap Chap, who finished second with 2,766 votes, and UDA’s Misi Mutua, who garnered 809 votes to take third place.
According to Kenya News Agency, the by-election saw a voter turnout of 55.9%, with 7,710 out of 13,778 registered voters participating in the election. Many polling stations experienced short queues as residents hesitated to engage in the voting process.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, speaking at Mumbuni Girls following the announcement of the results, expressed her pride and gratitude towards the residents of Mumbuni for placing their trust in Kisoi. She commended the voters for maintaining peace and ensuring an interference-free voting process, emphasizing that the victory aligns with the vision Machakos residents have for the Wiper party leader.
Governor Ndeti extended her appreciation to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for organizing a fair and credible election. She also encouraged the other candidates to collaborate with Kisoi, contributing their ideas for a prosperous future in Mumbuni North Ward.
Anthony Kisoi expressed his gratitude to the residents for electing him as their Ward Representative, pledging his commitment to their development. He also acknowledged the IEBC for conducting a transparent and credible election process.
