Nairobi: Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has said the team is ready to bounce back to winning ways, ahead of Wednesday’s matchday three of the 2025/26 SportPesa League against Mathare United at the Dandora Stadium in Nairobi.

According to Kenya News Agency, the Brewers are entering the match against the Slum Boys following consecutive defeats, but coach Okere is determined to correct past mistakes and secure a victory. “It is a tough period of course losing two games in a row, but we have also tried to look at the positives that will lift the team’s spirits heading into the oncoming game,” Okere expressed.

Okere highlighted the team’s productive pre-season, emphasizing key moments that could be transferred to their league performances. He noted that one critical focus has been on improving their defensive strategy. “One area that we have worked on a lot is prevention of goals. We have conceded four goals in two matches but in circumstances which we should have controlled better so over the last two days of training, this is an area we have looked at keenly,” Okere added.

Facing a Mathare United side that is brimming with confidence following a recent victory, Okere anticipates a challenging encounter. “They are a very good side with technical players and are confident at the moment, so we will approach that match with a lot of caution, but we must head there confident too,” he stated.
