Murang’a: First Lady Rachel Ruto attended a requiem mass at the St. Matthew Kahiga Catholic Church in Kandara constituency, Murang’a County, for 16 family members who lost their lives in a road accident on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway. The accident occurred in Kikopey on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
According to Kenya News Agency, the First Lady was joined by Murang’a Women Representative Betty Maina, Nominated Senator Veronica Maina, and Kandara Sub County Deputy County Commissioner Peter Maina on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The event was marked by a somber atmosphere as the community came together to mourn the tragic loss.
