Pura: A Kenya Police Reservist was today shot dead by suspected bandits believed to be from Tiaty, Baringo County, while another was left seriously injured in the Pura area in Samburu County. Following the ambush by the suspected cattle rustlers, area residents rushed the injured one to Maralal hospital for treatment.
According to Kenya News Agency, the assistant County Commissioner, Mr. Peter Mutiso, stated that security personnel have been dispatched to the area to pursue the bandits who fled towards Malabo valley. He urged area residents to remain calm as efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Mr. Mutiso acknowledged the deceased NPR as a hard-working individual and expressed gratitude to the people of Pura for their cooperation with the security team on security issues.
