Kirinyaga:Graduands from Kirinyaga University’s School of Nursing and Clinical Medicine were encouraged to maintain professionalism, integrity, and compassion as they embark on their careers in healthcare.
According to Kenya News Agency, Dr. Immaculate Marwa, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, addressed the new nurses and clinicians during the Pinning and Oath-Taking Ceremony at the University Auditorium. She emphasized the importance of upholding high standards of professional conduct, highlighting ethics, integrity, and honesty as vital components of quality healthcare.
Dr. Marwa stressed the need for healthcare professionals to place patients at the center of their practice by demonstrating empathy, compassion, and respect in every interaction. She reminded the graduands to maintain patient confidentiality and protect the dignity of those seeking medical care, asserting that every patient deserves respect and access to high-quality care regardless of their background.
The Dean also highlighted the importance of embracing digital technology and innovation in the evolving healthcare sector. She noted that proficiency in modern healthcare technologies, such as electronic health records and telehealth, will be crucial for enhancing service delivery and patient outcomes.
