Nairobi: Tanzania’s JKT Queens emerged victorious in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers 2025. Winfrida Gerald’s decisive goal, scored just five minutes into the match, secured the win for JKT Queens in the final against Rayon Sports WFC. The match took place at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to Kenya News Agency, during the second half, Rayon Sports WFC, the champions of Rwanda, made efforts to equalize but were unable to penetrate the solid defense of JKT Queens. The Tanzanian team focused on counter-attacks and quick transitions while maintaining a strong defensive organization.

JKT Queens’ head coach, Azishi Kondo, expressed his confidence in the team’s success while addressing the media. He stated, “We came here to lift the title and the mission is now accomplished. I thank the players and staff for the hard work.” This victory marks JKT Queens’ second regional title, having previously won in 2023. They stand as the only team to have claimed the regional trophy twice, surpassing Vihiga Queens, Simba Queens, and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, each of whom has won it once.

In another match, a first-half goal from Margret Kunihira secured third place for Kenya Police Bullets against Kampala Queens from Uganda.
