Gem: Next year’s general election is a sure bet for President William Ruto, Gem Member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo has said.
According to Kenya News Agency, Odhiambo asserted that President Ruto will defeat his opponents by a significant margin, owing to the successful track record of his first term, during which he has promoted development throughout the entire country.
The legislator made these remarks at the Gem Wagai sub-county headquarters today, where he oversaw the distribution of Sh24.4 million in bursary cheques to students from the Gem constituency. He emphasized that Ruto’s re-election is likely because he has consistently advocated for inclusivity in his government, contrasting it with previous administrations that, according to him, focused on a single region.
Odhiambo urged Kenyans to support the president to secure a second-term mandate. He also called on the opposition to refrain from dividing the country along tribal lines, stating, ‘Kenya belongs to all of us, and there is no need of invoking tribal groupings in our politics.’
Furthermore, Odhiambo appealed to former President Uhuru Kenyatta to allow his successor, William Ruto, the space to govern peacefully.
