Addis Ababa: The Gambella Regional council has appointed Alemitu Umod as Chief Administrator with the rank of deputy chief administrator.
In its second extraordinary meeting convened today, the regional council appointed Alemitu as chief administrator of Gambella Regional state.
Alemitu was appointed because the former chief administrator Umod Ujulu will hold other office responsibilities, it was learnt.
Previously, the newly appointed chief administrator served as the deputy speaker of the regional council, state minister for Women and Social Affairs, and held other high-level positions.
