Taipei:Uasin Gishu Cheptiret Dispensary in Kesses Sub County is being hailed as a model of accessible and dignified healthcare within the rural areas of Uasin Gishu County, where quality medical care is often distant for residents.
According to Kenya News Agency, County Chief Officer for Preventive and Promotive Health Services, Dr. Billy Lubanga, visited the facility and was impressed by its operations. He noted the presence of all staff, the cleanliness, organization, and uninterrupted care provided to patients as the standard desired across the county.
Dr. Lubanga emphasized the importance of dispensaries like Cheptiret as the primary point of contact for rural families, highlighting the County Government’s commitment, under Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s Nguzo Number Two agenda, to strengthen primary healthcare. This initiative focuses on improving staffing, medicine supply, hygiene, and infrastructure at lower-level facilities.
The Chief Officer also mentioned the ongoing registration under the Social Health Authority (SHA) at the dispensary, which offers residents easier access to insured services through the National Health Insurance system. He noted that essential medicines were well-stocked and clinical services were running smoothly, reflecting the dispensary’s commitment to patient care.
Health workers at the dispensary were praised for their professionalism and dedication. Dr. Lubanga urged them to maintain high standards, emphasizing the County Government’s support in ensuring quality healthcare reaches all parts of Uasin Gishu.
