Vihiga County Mobilises Resources To Operationalise Ebunangwe VTC

Vihiga: The Vihiga County Governor, Dr. Wilber Ottichilo, on Friday hosted a delegation from Ebunangwe VTC, comprising the institution’s committee and administration, to discuss matters relating to the operationalization of the institution at the County Headquarters in the Governor’s office.

According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Ottichilo emphasized that the operationalization of Ebunangwe VTC is an initiative that he has been championing since his tenure as area Member of Parliament of Emuhaya. He remains committed to seeing the initiative succeed.

Governor Ottichilo outlined plans to focus on student recruitment, resource mobilization, and infrastructural development through support from various donors and government input. He reiterated his commitment to play an instrumental role in advancing these efforts.

He noted that previously, the institution lacked proper administrative structures, which affected the progress of processes. He expressed gratitude to President Dr. William Ruto for his intervention and to the Ministry of Education for actualizing the establishment of the necessary structures.

With the administrative structures now in place, efforts will be made to fast-track the conversion of the Ebusiloli-Ebunangwe-Kilingili road, connecting to Mulimani-Emakakha, into a tarmac road. This will expand the institution’s land for infrastructural development and solarize the County Government’s water project to ensure a continuous water supply in the area.

The delegation was led by the area Member of County Assembly Hon. Hellam Esipilah Aineah, the principal of the institution Fredrick Wambalwa, and the Chairperson of the committee Arthur Imbira Kwatemba. Also present were the County Executive Committee Member for Education and TVET, Anne Desma, and the Governor’s political advisor, James Otari.
