UDA Candidate Clinches MCA Seat in Kajiado

Kajiado: United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Amos Mpusia is the Member of County Assembly elect for Purko Ward. In the official results announced by the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission, Mpusia clinched the seat after garnering 2,085 votes.

According to Kenya News Agency, Simon Sanare of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) received 1,522 votes while Daniel Naikuni of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secured 298 votes. In his acceptance speech, Mpusia expressed gratitude to God for his victory and pledged to deliver services to the people once sworn in.

He extended an olive branch to his competitors, requesting their support to enhance the living standards of the residents. Mpusia also thanked the UDA party leaders in Kajiado for their support in securing the seat, adding that the win signifies the ward’s full backing of President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

The byelection saw a voter turnout of 3,905 out of 4,848 registered voters in the ward. The Purko Ward seat became vacant following the death of former MCA Simon Saitoti in March 2025.
