Royal Naval Force Leads Seabed Cleanup at Aqaba Marine Reserve

Aqaba:The Royal Naval Force and Royal Boats Command conducted a seabed cleanup campaign at the Aqaba Marine Reserve Visitor Center’s beach. This effort was a collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and included a team of divers from the Royal Naval Force, Royal Boats Command, Civil Defense, the Royal Department for Environmental Protection (RDeP), the Aqaba Diving Association, and several schools from the Aqaba Governorate’s education directorates.

According to Jordan News Agency, the campaigns are organized by Oxfam in Jordan and the Mediterranean Regional Cooperation Programme (Interreg-MED). They are conducted in cooperation with the European Union Delegation to Jordan and the Aqaba Marine Reserve, with participation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

These initiatives aim to unite various entities and participants in a common goal of protecting Aqaba’s marine and coastal environment, and they play a crucial role in preserving the region’s beaches and biodiversity.
