President Ruto in Nyandarua

Nyandarua: President William Ruto’s visit to Nyandarua County marked the third day of his tour in the Mt. Kenya Region, with the county government pledging Sh800 million to complete the J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital. President Ruto emphasized that this funding would provide residents with access to quality and affordable healthcare.

According to Kenya News Agency, during his visit to Ol Kalou, President Ruto reviewed the progress of the 142-bed capacity J.M. Kariuki Memorial County Referral Hospital. The hospital, designed to offer a range of services including inpatient, outpatient, imaging, laboratory, emergency, and maternal and child healthcare, is currently at about 48 percent completion. The President announced that the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) would take charge of the remaining construction work, aiming for completion by November.

President Ruto also initiated the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project at the Jua Kali Stage in Ol Kalou Town and examined the Ol Kalou Affordable Housing project. Additionally, he officiated the commencement of the Engineer wholesale and retail market construction, a project valued at Sh380 million, during a ceremony hosted by Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha.

Plans for the area include the construction of a regional Mau Mau Museum at the Kinyahwe courthouse, to be named the Dedan Kimathi Memorial Museum.
