Mikinduri: Plans are underway for the construction of a Huduma Centre in Mikinduri, located in Tigania East, Meru County, as announced by Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku. Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony held at New Zion Church, the CS emphasized that the center would facilitate the provision of Huduma Smart Serikalini services within the constituency.
According to Kenya News Agency, the CS highlighted the government’s objective to establish such centers in every sub-county across the nation to enhance service delivery for all Kenyan citizens. “The purpose of any government is to serve its citizens. In view of this, we have a plan to have centers in every corner of this republic to ensure access to essential government services for every Kenyan citizen,” Mr. Ruku stated.
The CS also addressed the ongoing infrastructural development projects in the area, urging residents to support the government’s efforts for regional and county-wide prosperity. The government, through the Ministry of Roads and Transport, is currently upgrading the Mikinduri – Kunati – Gatithini road to bitumen standards at a cost of Sh3.1 billion. Additionally, the construction of the Tigania East Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Campus in Muthara Ward is progressing well.
To support local businesswomen, the government is also building a market in Mikinduri at a cost of Sh320 million, with an additional Sh180 million allocated for another market in Mulika within the same constituency. Mr. Ruku encouraged residents to disregard detractors and continue backing the Kenya Kwanza government as it strives to fulfill its commitments to the people.
Mr. Ruku was joined by Engineer Eric Murithi Mugaa from the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, as well as MPs Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East), Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), and GG Kagombe (Gatundu South).
