Lodwar: A section of alumni of Lodwar Boys High School are calling for complete overhaul of the institution’s current administration, citing poor performance in the recent KCSE results. Led by the chairman, Lodwar Old Boys Association (LOBA), Dr. Robert Abok, the former students termed the results as unacceptable. “As the association chairman, I am very embarrassed. The existing school administration should be overhauled as soon as possible,” said Abok.

According to Kenya News Agency, the school posted a mean grade of 5.5616, with no candidate scoring an A or A- grade. Six candidates scored B+, 19 B, 28 C+, 40 C, 27 C-, 45 D+, 27 D, and 2 D-. Another alumnus, Lomenen Junior, expressed his concern by stating, “These results hurt deeply. 74 Ds from a national school are not just mere statistics but a wake-up call.” Lomenen further emphasized the need for a serious leadership audit to ensure accountability and a return to discipline, mentorship, and academic focus.

While responding to critics who accused the ex-students of not doing enough to support the school, Dr. Abok highlighted the association’s efforts. “For the last 5 years, LOBA has constantly supported the school with provision of 850 books in 2025 worth over Sh1 million, besides continuous engagement with the school administration, teachers, and students on ways of improving performance,” he said. He also mentioned the completion of a Sh15 million modern library and renewed efforts among alumni to improve the school’s infrastructure. “As LOBA chairman, I am so proud of what we have achieved and we expect our efforts to be reflected in the school’s performance,” added Abok.
