Koup©la: The Association S¨ve de Vie de Koup©la (ASVK), in conjunction with local residents, carried out the planting of 500 trees at its site in the village of Goghin, located a few kilometers from Koup©la. The event, held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, was attended by the High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, alongside partner NGOs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ASVK has designated over 14 hectares for reforestation activities, with a specific one-hectare area having been prepared and fenced for this particular planting. The president of ASVK, Ablass© B©r©, highlighted that the demarcation of this area was supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The activity’s patron, the wife of Her Majesty Naaba Yemd© of Koup©la, commended the dedication of women and the community’s efforts in maintaining previously planted trees. She encouraged ongoing vigilance and support for the site to ensure its benefits are widely realized.

Ablass© B©r© stated that the day’s efforts contribute to the restoration of the vegetation cover, aligning with the President of Faso’s call to regreen the area and preserve endangered species for future generations.

High Commissioner Moctar Ilboudo praised ASVK’s initiative, noting its alignment with the broader reforestation campaign. He emphasized the importance of plant cover as a heritage passed down from ancestors and highlighted the duty to restore the natural environment.
