Tigoni:Kiambu: The Department of Youth Affairs, Sports, and Communication is ramping up efforts for a significant sporting event in the region. Scheduled for November 8, 2026, the Community Run in Tigoni, Limuru Municipality, is set to be one of the year’s major highlights.
According to Kenya News Agency, County Executive Committee Member Ali Osman met with the Athletics Kenya (AK) Kiambu Branch, led by Chairperson Irene Wamuyu, to finalize event plans. This meeting addressed logistics, participant registration, safety, route planning, and community mobilization to ensure high turnout.
The event will include running, walking, skating, and cycling categories, expecting over 1,000 participants. It aims to unite residents and promote healthy lifestyles. Ali Osman emphasized the event’s purpose, stating it is a call for residents to embrace wellness through sports.
Key officials, including Chief Officer for Sports Godfrey Masolo and Chief Officer for Youth Affairs and Communication Dr. Mercy Njoki, were present at the meeting. Organizers highlighted the event’s inclusivity, catering to all ages and fitness levels, from competitive athletes to families.
