Kadiogo: The commune of Koubri was recently introduced to the Community Entrepreneurship program by the Director General of the Community Entrepreneurship Agency (APEC), Cl©mentine Minoungou/Zoundi. In a public conference held at the village hall of the former town hall of Koubri, she addressed the local population to present the opportunities and subscription terms of APEC, as well as to fulfill a duty of accountability.
According to Burkina Information Agency, APEC is a presidential initiative aimed at raising funds from citizens, businesses, and associations to be invested in impactful projects, such as the creation of industrial units and infrastructure with significant economic and social benefits. The agency’s mission is to foster development through a participatory approach that allows citizens to directly contribute to their country’s growth.
The conference attracted a diverse audience, including members of the special delegation from Koubri, customary and religious authorities, officials from both public and private sectors, traders, producers from various sectors, and workers from the informal economy. Cl©mentine Minoungou/Zoundi detailed the agency’s operations, emphasizing the inclusivity of APEC, which allows every Burkinabe to acquire shares and benefit from economic returns.
The discussions addressed the opportunities provided by APEC, as well as the management, control, and transparency mechanisms in place. Participants raised questions concerning the security of investments, the expected return on investments, the potential for expanding the program to more villages, and support for producers.
Mrs. Minoungou responded to these concerns, providing answers aimed at reassuring the participants. The session concluded with a call for unity and widespread participation in the initiative, highlighting the collective benefits of increased subscription, such as the development of essential infrastructure.
The conference served to reaffirm APEC’s commitment to contributing to the country’s sovereignty and development, encouraging citizens to actively participate in the initiative for the betterment of their communities.
