Isiolo: Isiolo South MP Mohamed Tubi was laid to rest at the Tuloroba Muslim Cemetery in Isiolo town yesterday, following Islamic rites. Hundreds of residents and leaders, led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, attended the burial to pay their final respects to the late legislator, who passed away on Wednesday at Nairobi Hospital.
According to Kenya News Agency, Speaker Wetangula described Tubi as a peace-loving and dedicated leader who worked tirelessly to promote harmony and development in Isiolo South. He noted that despite battling health challenges since his election, Tubi remained steadfast in serving his constituents and representing their interests in Parliament. The Speaker lauded the MP’s efforts in championing land and security issues, emphasizing that his commitment to his people was evident throughout his tenure.
Wetangula urged residents to honor Tubi’s memory by embracing peace and unity, acknowledging that death is a fate that awaits everyone. Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali also eulogized the late MP as a humble and peace-driven leader whose legacy should be preserved through continued harmony in the region.
Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo expressed gratitude to the National Assembly leadership, led by Speaker Wetangula, for supporting Tubi’s family during his illness, especially after his medical cover had been exhausted. Tubi’s death has left a gap in Isiolo South’s leadership, with residents remembering him for his humility and commitment to service.
