Inaugural NCBA Nanyuki Open to Attract Top Golfers

Nanyuki: The Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) series is set to continue this weekend at the Nanyuki Sports Club with the inauguration of the NCBA Nanyuki Open, commencing on Friday. This three-day tournament, concluding on Sunday, has attracted a total of 74 players who will compete for a prize purse of Sh500,000. The tournament features a handicap entry limit of 13.5, ensuring a field of elite competitors.

According to Kenya News Agency, the series leader, John Lejirma, will be leading the charge alongside notable golfers such as Michael Karanga and Elvis Muigua. Muigua enters the tournament on a high note, having secured consecutive victories at the Coast, including wins at the Diani Beach Masters and the Malindi Open earlier this month. Other prominent contenders include Malindi Open runners-up Ebill Omollo and Isaac Makokha, all vying for victory in this inaugural event.

Nanyuki Sports Club Captain, Michael Mwirigi, expressed his pride in welcoming golfers, fans, and the broader community to this landmark event. “The NCBA Nanyuki Open will not only deliver top-tier golf, but also showcase the charm and hospitality of Nanyuki,” he stated.
