Makueni: Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has commissioned two boreholes and a classroom in Kisau/Kiteta Ward in Mbooni Constituency on Thursday. Kilonzo commissioned a borehole at Lung’u Primary School that will provide reliable water to 720 households in six villages, while a solarization of the Song’eni borehole will provide clean water to 600 residents.
According to Kenya News Agency, the Governor also commissioned an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom at Song’eni Primary School. Kilonzo challenged the residents to protect the projects against vandalism, which he mentioned is rampant in the area. He emphasized that the destruction of these projects would negatively impact the community, as they are the direct beneficiaries.
“Our government intends to provide clean water to the residents to ensure they have clean water. There is a need to protect these projects against vandalism. Destruction of the projects will impact negatively on you,” Kilonzo stated.
During the events, twelve hundred-seater tents and chairs were issued to organized groups to support income-generating activities. This initiative aims to empower the community economically and ensure social inclusion within the area.
