Nyatike: Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary (PS), Raymond Omollo, has stated that the government will soon operationalize all gazetted administrative units across the country to bring services closer to the people. Omollo announced this during a harambee for a Community-Based Organization in Agenga village, North Kadem Ward, Nyatike Sub-county, emphasizing the importance of service equity at local levels.
According to Kenya News Agency, the PS also met with youths from Agenga village to promote people-centered empowerment initiatives. He urged the youth not to be manipulated by politicians for political gains but to seize government opportunities for economic empowerment. Omollo highlighted the government’s efforts to expand the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme, which aims to boost rice production and create job opportunities in Nyatike and Migori.
Currently, 7,200 acres at the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme are under irrigation, with the potential to expand to 19,000 acres. The PS also inaugurated the Konyango West Football Tournament, emphasizing the Huduma Mashinani initiative, which will provide grassroots access to services like National Identification Card acquisition.
Omollo encouraged the youth to utilize this initiative for obtaining IDs, crucial for accessing government services and voting as the country gears up for the 2027 General Elections. He called on the Nyanza community to support the Broad-Based Government to ensure the successful delivery of its agenda, urging collective backing for the President to realize benefits from taxpayers’ contributions.
