According to Kenya News Agency, the computers are part of a phased program designed to fully equip the institution’s Jitume Lab. This initiative provides trainees with access to modern digital learning facilities, helping them develop skills relevant to the evolving job market.
The construction of the Jitume Lab was supported by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) through Gichugu Constituency. It aims to create a modern learning environment that promotes digital literacy, innovation, and technology-based training.
Joseph Kimemia, the Principal of the institution, expressed that the new equipment will significantly enhance the college’s ability to deliver ICT-related training. He emphasized that it will expand opportunities for learners, particularly in areas like digital marketing, online learning, digital entrepreneurship, and technology-based skills development.
Kimemia described the initiative as a strategic investment in the trainees’ future. He noted that access to modern technology would better prepare them for the demands of the digital economy, providing greater access to practical digital tools and hands-on learning opportunities.
