Egypt president reiterates solidarity with Angola

Cairo – The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El- Sisi, reiterated on Sunday his country’s solidarity with Angola, as part of the celebration of the 48th anniversary of national independence.

In a congratulatory message addressed to Angolan head of state, João Lourenço, the Egyptian statesman highlighted the quality of bilateral relations, through regular contacts and the interest in strengthening them.

President El-Sisi emphasised that, in the context of strengthening relations between the two countries, he counts on Angola’s contribution to world peace, especially in the Arab region.

The Egyptian Head of State reiterated his willingness to continue co-operation in a wide range of areas, reaffirming his readiness to do whatever Angola needs in its relationship with Egypt.

Political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries was formalised on March 26, 1987, when a general Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was signed in Luanda.
