Busia: Residents of Busia County have been challenged to collaborate with security officers in a bid to ensure peace in the County. Speaking to residents of Teso South Sub County at Kemodo Market on Tuesday, Busia County Commissioner Mwachaunga Chaunga noted that there are criminal suspects terrorising the local residents using illegal guns.
According to Kenya News Agency, Commissioner Chaunga emphasized the presence of various types of illegal firearms being used to commit crimes against innocent traders in areas such as Nambale and Busia town, as well as other locations across the county. He highlighted the importance of community involvement in reporting these criminal activities to help the authorities in restoring peace.
The Commissioner urged local residents to provide information about criminal suspects to designated County and sub-county security team leaders. He warned that failure to report those involved in criminal activities could lead to further terrorization of the community, theft of property, and ultimately, damage to the county’s economy.
