Nairobi: Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has called for greater investment in school infrastructure to improve learning conditions and create better opportunities for children in the county. Barasa spoke on Saturday during a fundraiser towards the completion of a 150-bed dormitory at ACK St John’s Mukhweya Senior School in Kholera Ward, Matungu Sub-County, where he joined Matungu MP Peter Nabulindo, school officials and other leaders.
According to Kenya News Agency, Barasa emphasized that adequate learning facilities are critical in creating a conducive environment for students to study, live, and develop their potential. He highlighted that the completion of the dormitory would help address accommodation needs at the school while providing learners with a safer and more suitable environment.
Barasa urged education stakeholders, leaders, and the community to collaborate in supporting schools to improve infrastructure and strengthen learning outcomes. He stressed that investment in education is essential in preparing young people with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to the development of their communities and the country.
The fundraiser brought together leaders, the school fraternity, and members of the community in support of the dormitory project.
