Vihiga: Vihiga County Government has concluded a two-day public participation exercise on the County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP), as required by the Public Finance Management Act, 2012. The forums, organized by the Department of Finance and Economic Planning, were held across all six sub-counties to give residents a chance to review the county’s fiscal performance and share views on budget priorities.
According to Kenya News Agency, meetings took place at various locations, including Ludodo Friends Church in Tiriki East, Mwituha ACK Church in Emuhaya, Emusenjeli Church of God in Luanda, Vihiga Friends Church in Vihiga, Kigama Friends Church in Sabatia, and Munzatsi Friends Church in Hamisi. These gatherings provided a platform for community members to voice their opinions on the financial direction of the county.
County officials emphasized that the feedback gathered during these sessions would be instrumental in guiding the preparation of the 2025/2026 budget. The initiative aims to ensure that the budget reflects the needs and priorities of the residents, aligning with the principles outlined in the Public Finance Management Act.
