Mbita:A campaign to garner support for President William Ruto’s administration is gaining momentum in Nyanza, with several MPs advocating for his two-term agenda, highlighting ongoing government projects.
According to Kenya News Agency, National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro emphasized that the Ruto administration has prioritized infrastructure in Nyanza, particularly in road construction, electricity, water connections, and affordable housing. Osoro stressed that Nyanza is finally receiving attention after being overlooked by previous governments.
Osoro noted the disparities in basic services between Nyanza and other regions, mentioning that while Central Kenya homes have electricity, many in Nyanza rely on solar power or lack connections. He argued that the Ruto administration is addressing this imbalance by extending similar attention to Nyanza.
Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo supported these views, highlighting the visible impact of government projects in Homa Bay. She dismissed the need for intermediaries to persuade the public, stating that development projects have already influenced public opinion. Odhiambo cited projects like the Rusinga Ring Road as evidence of the administration’s commitment.
Joyce Bensuda, Homa Bay County Woman Representative, pointed out the strong political support for President Ruto among residents, advocating for continuity in leadership. She mentioned ongoing road construction projects, such as the Mfangano road, as examples of the administration’s efforts in the region, and urged Nyanza residents to support Ruto’s re-election.
