Nairobi: The Makueni County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Social Economic Planning, Damaris Kavoi, has made a call to residents to contribute their opinions for the formulation of the 2027/2028 Annual Development Plan (ADP). She emphasized the importance of public participation in shaping the county’s developmental priorities.
According to Kenya News Agency, Kavoi addressed the media from her office in Wote town, announcing that the collection of public views will take place from August 10th to 11th, 2026, at the sub-ward level, and will proceed to the ward level from August 13th to 14th, 2026. Kavoi highlighted that this ADP marks the final phase in implementing the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027. It will outline the programs and projects the government aims to execute.
Kavoi urged all residents to participate actively in identifying and prioritizing development projects for the upcoming budget cycle. She assured the public that their feedback will be considered, particularly for ongoing projects that deliver substantial public service improvements. The county will focus on crucial sectors, including water, irrigation, agriculture, and health, with specific attention to primary health care and the enhancement of health facilities.
The ADP also outlines significant educational initiatives, such as the training of youths in technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs. The plan includes equipping these institutions and establishing connections between TVET graduates and industries. Additionally, the county plans to integrate cross-cutting issues like gender equality, youth empowerment, disability inclusion, and climate change into its development framework.
