Police Deployed To Guard School Following Students Unrest

Properties of unknown value were on Sunday night destroyed after students of Kalulini Secondary School in Kibwezi Sub- County went on rampage.
According to a police reports, the students destroyed window panes and fluorescent lights at midnight before police were called in to quell the unrest.
Makueni Police Commander, Joseph Ole Naipeyan, while confirming the incident said no student was injured during the strife.
‘‘The police will remain in school until Wednesday when students will break for midterm to deter any act of indiscipline,” he added.
Cases of school unrest in Makueni have been on the rise. Last week two schools were closed indefinitely after students went on rampage and torched dormitories.
Maiani Girls and Mukaa Boys students were sent home after some of them allegedly set two dormitories on fire.
So far 12 students from Maiani Girls were arrested for their alleged involvement after a dorm housing more than 176 students was razed down on Thursday at around 7.30 am.
Meanwhile, five students from Mukaa Boys have already been arraigned in court and charged with arson.
The five are alleged to have torched a one storey dormitory housing more than 200 students on May 22 at around 6.00pm.
