Eldoret:The Office of Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in the North Rift Region has initiated the 2026 Customer Service Week to express gratitude to its clients, highlight its achievements, and raise awareness about its mandate. The event took place at the ORPP North Rift Office in Eldoret, drawing participation from representatives of the Uasin Gishu Civil Society Organizations Network, political parties, youth and women groups, and others.
According to Kenya News Agency, the Regional Head, Hassan Maloba, emphasized the significance of the event, which included a cake-cutting ceremony featuring ORPP’s corporate colors. Maloba detailed various activities planned for the week, such as appreciating clients from the general public, political parties, CSOs, MDAs, and others. These activities aim to showcase the office’s achievements in preparing for the 2027 elections, including enhancing civic education and providing training for youth, women, persons with disabilities, CSOs, and political leaders on electoral preparedness and timelines.
Maloba also highlighted efforts to increase awareness about ORPP’s mandate concerning the registration, regulation, and administration of the Political Party’s fund, aiming to educate the public on the requirements for participating in elections. He stressed the importance of compliance by political parties to ensure their offices meet legal requirements, which is crucial for citizens seeking information on party registration. Maloba warned that non-compliance could result in closure notices for offending offices.
Participants at the event expressed their appreciation for ORPP’s dedication and support, urging for more comprehensive civic education and training as the country approaches the next general elections in 2027. Kenya is observing this year’s service week from October 5-9, 2026, under the theme “Extra Mile: Transforming Public Service Through Customer Service Excellence,” with the national tagline “Huduma Bora, Taifa Bora.”
