Modern Technology Launched to Properly Monitor Construction Works

Addis Ababa, The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation has launched modern technology to properly monitor and supervise various construction activities in a single center.

The launching program was held in the presence of the Speaker of the House People’s Representatives, Tagesse Chaffo, the Minister of Construction and Board Chairperson of Ethiopian Construction Works, Aisha Mohamed, the Minister of Defense Abraham Belay, and Labor and Skills Minister Muferiat Kamil, among others.

The project consists of a center that enables the production and distribution of various construction inputs and helps monitor and supervise construction activities in one center using technologies.

In addition, an institute that enables the training of construction experts was also one of the projects officially operational.

The high-level government officials who attended the launching program visited the reform activities of the corporation, and the results gained were indicated.

The board chairperson of the corporation, Aisha Mohamed, said during the occasion that, by implementing the reform activities, the corporation is currently progressing well and showing results.

She stated that the corporation has already started the production and distribution of construction materials to address the challenges the sector is facing due to imported materials.

Highlighting that the corporation becomes competitive in completing projects of high national significance with speed, quality, and within the allocated budget, Aisha said that currently, the corporation is carrying of the construction of 67 projects with a cost of more than 55.7 billion birr.
