Missing IEBC Official Found Dead

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission elections official who was reported missing on August 11th while on official duty has been found dead in Kajiado.
Loitoktok Sub-County Poloice Commandant (OCPD) Kipruto Ruto said the slain man was identified by his sisters, Ann Mboya and Mary Mwikali, at the Loitoktok Level 4 Hospital Mortuary Monday night.
Herders reported spotting a body of a man with visible signs of struggle at Kilombero River in Amboseli National Park, Kajiado South Constituency, when they alerted the authorities.
Family members of the missing official confirmed the body to be that of their kin, Mr. Daniel Mbolu Musyoka.
The IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati on 12th August issued a statement about the missing Official and reported the matter to Embakasi Police Station Occurrence Book (OB) number 24/11/08/22.
Reports reveal that the Embakasi East Constituency Returning Officer went out to receive a phone call and never returned.
“At around 9am on the 11th of August 2022, Musyoka’s body guards escorted him from his house to the East African School of Aviation Tallying Centre. At around 0945HRS, Mr. Musyoka excused himself to receive a phone call but did not return.” Chebukati’s statement read
The announcement further said in Musyoka’s absence, the Deputy Returning Officer, Embakasi, took charge of the duties during the electoral process at the Nairobi Aviation College Tallying Centre in Embakasi
The elections body was deeply concerned about the unfortunate incident and had called upon concerned security agencies to speedily investigate the matter.
In 2013, Chris Musando an elections official was also found tortured and murdered in Kikuyu, after he mysteriously disappeared during election period in July 2013.
