Nairobi: The Kiambu County Government, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Cooperatives, will participate in the 9th Africa Agri Expo 2026, scheduled to take place on February 11 and 12, 2026, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.
According to Kenya News Agency, the county confirmed its participation in the continental agribusiness event through a notice released by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Cooperatives. The event will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and will be co-located with the 2nd Future Food, Livestock and Poultry Expo – Kenya.
The notice highlighted that the Expo presents a strategic platform for participants to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, buyers, investors, and innovators from across Africa and beyond. Kiambu County aims to leverage the forum to showcase emerging agricultural technologies, promote partnerships, and explore investment opportunities shaping the future of Africa’s agriculture, food, and livestock sectors.
The Africa Agri Expo is a leading agribusiness exhibition in the region, bringing together stakeholders across the agricultural value chain, including producers, processors, input suppliers, technology providers, and development partners. The 2026 edition is expected to highlight advancements in Agri-technology, irrigation, mechanization, livestock production, food processing, and sustainable farming systems.
The co-location with the Future Food, Livestock and Poultry Expo is anticipated to further strengthen discussions around integrated food systems, value addition, and resilient livestock and poultry production-areas critical to food security, economic growth, and job creation in Kenya and across the continent.
For Kiambu County, whose economy is strongly anchored in agriculture-ranging from dairy farming and horticulture to coffee and emerging agribusiness enterprises-the Expo provides an opportunity to showcase county-led initiatives, attract investment, and learn from global best practices. The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Cooperatives is expected to highlight programs supporting farmer cooperatives, irrigation development, livestock value chains, and youth participation in agribusiness.
The Africa Agri Expo 2026 is expected to attract local and international exhibitors and delegates, reinforcing Kenya’s role as a regional hub for agricultural trade, innovation, and investment.
