Kericho: The Kericho Law Court has officially relocated to the Kenyatta University premises, situated opposite the Kericho County Library Services along the Kericho-Kisumu Highway in Kericho Town. The relocation aims to enhance service delivery and improve access to justice, following challenges experienced at the previous location at Kona C-junction, which had limited space and was inconvenient for court users.
According to Kenya News Agency, Chief Magistrate (CM) Tito Maoga Gesora emphasized that the new site will ease pressure on litigants and provide a more conducive working environment for judicial officers and the public. CM Gesora remarked, ‘Kericho Law Court has relocated from Kona C-junction to Kenyatta University premises, making judicial services more accessible and efficient for residents.’ He was accompanied by Kericho High Court Deputy Registrar Felistus Nekesa during the site tour.
The Chief Magistrate further revealed that the newly established Chepkemel Magistrate’s Court in Sigowet-Soin Sub-County is now operational. The court, officially proclaimed in the Kenya Gazette dated November 13, 2025, operates under the supervisory jurisdiction of the Kericho High Court. CM Gesora added, ‘The opening of the new Chepkemel Court will bring justice closer to residents of Sigowet-Soin and neighboring areas.’
He also noted that the Kipkelion Mobile Law Court remains functional, continuing to serve litigants in Kipkelion Sub-County and ensuring judicial services are accessible across Kericho County.
