Kericho: Dennis Kipkoech, a 60-year-old farmer from Kericho County, has emerged as the latest SportPesa Midweek Jackpot millionaire after securing an impressive Sh10,791,271 win. Kipkoech becomes the seventh winner of the Midweek Jackpot in 2025, joining a growing list of successful punters who have defied the odds with accurate football predictions.
According to Kenya News Agency, Kipkoech used only Sh99 as his stake, winning after correctly predicting the outcome of all 13 games in that week’s SportPesa Midweek Jackpot. After placing two separate Midweek Jackpot bets, Kipkoech struck gold with his second prediction, reaping a bumper harvest to become the latest millionaire minted from SportPesa’s long line of winners.
Kipkoech explained that he had placed two Midweek Jackpot bets on that day. The first bet was analyzed thoroughly for several hours, but it resulted in only one correct prediction. However, his second, more casual prediction turned out to be the winning ticket. As the games progressed, Kipkoech found himself nervous, particularly when a game involved a red card, but ultimately, it did not affect his winning outcome.
A former tea plantation worker who ventured into personal farming, Kipkoech shared his immediate plans on how he intends to use the windfall to transform his life. He plans to travel to Githunguri to invest in dairy cows and purchase additional land to grow food for the livestock and personal consumption.
Kipkoech expressed his gratitude to SportPesa, viewing it as a divine gift for people in need. “Where would I have gotten an amount like this?” he pondered, noting the difficulty of obtaining even small loans. He is now setting his sights on the SportPesa Mega Jackpot, which has reached a staggering Sh421 million.
The SportPesa Mega Jackpot kicks off this Saturday at 9:30 p.m., with a stake of Sh99 and a grand prize of Sh421,326,863. Bonus payouts will also be awarded for correctly making 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16/17 correct predictions.
