Nairobi: It is a proud and historic milestone for the Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA) as its leadership launched a publication celebrating the association’s remarkable journey of service, leadership, and transformation in Kenya’s education sector. The new book, titled ‘Legacy and Stewardship’, captures KEPSHA’s inspiring growth from its humble beginnings to becoming one of the most respected professional associations in the country and beyond.

According to Kenya News Agency, KEPSHA National Chairman Mr. Fuad Ali Abdalla described the publication as a reflection of the association’s long-standing commitment to visionary leadership, professional excellence, and unity of purpose among primary school heads across the country. ‘This is a very proud and historic moment in our lives and in the life of KEPSHA. This publication celebrates our journey of leadership, service, and transformation, beautifully captured under the title Legacy and Stewardship. It is both a mirror reflecting how far we have come and a compass guiding us into the future.’

The book traces KEPSHA’s growth through the dedication of its founding members, whose vision laid a strong foundation for the association’s success. Mr. Abdalla paid tribute to the pioneers of the first National Executive Committee, including the late Titus Waithaka, Bob Karani, Abdirazak Hussein, Charles Agina, John Mwiti, Hussein Fujo, and Irene Ngegi. He also recognized other key figures who carried KEPSHA’s vision forward, including Francis Warui, Ibrahim Mboya, and successive national chairmen Joseph Karuga, Shem Ndolo, Nicholas Ndolo, and the late Brother Johnson Nzioka.

‘These pioneers built more than an organisation; they built a community of purpose, unity, and professional excellence that continues to inspire us today,’ said Abdalla. He further noted that KEPSHA has grown from a small professional network into a strong national voice that influences education policy, promotes transformative leadership, and shapes the future of learning in Kenya.

As Kenya’s education system transforms with the Competency-Based Education and digital learning reforms, KEPSHA remains committed to strengthening leadership and accountability in schools. ‘We take great pride in collaborating with the Ministry of Education, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), government agencies, and our corporate partners. Together, we continue to nurture innovation and uphold the values that define excellence in school leadership.’

He expressed gratitude to all past leaders, members, and partners who supported the documentation of KEPSHA’s story, describing the publication as a testament to collective effort and shared purpose. ‘Leadership is a relay and stewardship of the baton. We must carry it with honour and pass it on with integrity to future generations,’ he stated.

Mr. Abdalla urged teachers to view the book as a reminder that their daily work contributes to a greater national story, one that shapes lives, transforms communities, and defines Kenya’s destiny.
