Kathwana: Tharaka Nithi Deputy Governor Nyaga Muisrael, representing Governor Muthomi Njuki, officiated the launch of Phase Two of the Kathwana Municipality tarmacking project. During the event, he lauded the county’s unity and its role in attracting government investment and improving residents’ livelihoods.
According to Kenya News Agency, Muisrael emphasized that residents should be prioritized for non-technical casual jobs during the road’s construction. Additionally, he announced that the market will also get solar-powered lighting and a creche facility to support lactating mothers.
Muthini Karangi, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Administration, Intergovernmental Coordination, and Devolution Affairs, echoed the call for harmony, stating that unity among county stakeholders is fundamental for sustained development.
Karingani Ward MCA Murithi Gaturo praised the infrastructure upgrade and urged residents to pay taxes promptly, noting that revenue collection is critical to sustaining such development efforts. The Kathwana Municipality Phase Two tarmacking project is part of a broader county agenda designed to modernize Kathwana’s urban infrastructure and transform it into a vibrant, commercial hub.
