Kajiado: Public health facilities in Kajiado County are set to benefit from Sh. 50 million worth of medical supplies dispatched by the county government. The consignment, from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), will be distributed to all health facilities across the five sub-counties to enhance access to essential medicines and improve healthcare service delivery.
According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Joseph ole Lenku, speaking during the flagging-off ceremony, said the move is aimed at ensuring health facilities remain adequately stocked to meet the needs of residents. “We are committed to ensuring that all our health facilities are well stocked so that residents can access quality healthcare services without interruption,” said Lenku. He added that the county government remains focused on strengthening the health sector through timely procurement and distribution of essential medical supplies.
The governor further revealed that the county has cleared all outstanding debts with KEMSA, noting that the improved financial standing has strengthened coordination and efficiency in the supply chain. “The county does not have any pending bills with KEMSA. We have settled all our obligations, and this has enhanced our working relationship,” he said.
KEMSA Director of Commercial Services Eliud Mureithi confirmed that the agency had fully supported the county’s requisitions and reaffirmed commitment to timely delivery of medical commodities to all public health facilities.
