JKUAT Bags Top Awards in Drama Festivals

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology produced a stellar performance in the central and eastern regional drama festivals staged at Kitui County to win five major trophies in various categories. The drama festival took place between June 23-26, 2022.
In tandem with the University’s mission setting trends in Higher Education Research, innovation and entrepreneurship, JKUAT emerged top in the Best Item on Innovation category.
Dushy the Student performed a winning mime to hand the University another first position trophy in the Best Presentation Category.
The University added three more trophies to its cabinets by emerging second in solo verse, spoken word and a choral verse presentation.
Speaking during the trophy presentation ceremony to the University Management Monday, October 24, 2022, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Wambui Ngumi, was full of praise for the University’s Drama Club.
The Vice Chancellor pledged her support to the team saying she was encouraged by the talent and competitive edge she had witnessed in the University.
The Chairperson of the School of Communication and Development Studies, Dr. Lilian Mwangi expressed her gratitude to the University Management saying the support has created an enabling environment for students to exploit their talents.
