Embu:Huduma Centre Embu staff marked this year’s Customer Service Week by donating assorted food and non-food items to orphaned children at St Angela Embu Children’s Home.
According to Kenya News Agency, the donation was made possible as the staff sacrificed by foregoing one meal daily for a week. The approximately 70 staff members used the saved funds to purchase foodstuffs, sanitary materials, and confectioneries for the orphans.
The staff also contributed to a greening initiative by planting several fruit trees in the children’s home’s compound while spending quality time with the children.
Center Manager Ruth Wacera stated that this annual activity is part of their effort to give back to the community and support those they serve daily. She emphasized their commitment to sharing love, compassion, and emotional support with the less fortunate.
Wacera highlighted that the initiative aligns with this year’s theme of “Going The Extra Mile,” encouraging others to share their resources with those in need. She appealed to individuals who have extra resources to support someone in their community.
