Uasin gishu: Quick efforts by Uasin Gishu County firefighters saved assets worth millions of shillings after a fire broke out at Paul Boit Secondary School in Kamagut Ward, Turbo Constituency, on Monday night.
According to Kenya News Agency, the Acting Director of the Department, Fredrick Serem, stated that they received a report of the incident at 11pm. Firefighters promptly rushed to the school and successfully extinguished the fire before it could spread further.
Serem reported that the fire, which originated in the school’s main warehouse, only consumed mattresses, firewood, and food items stored inside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. It was noted that some students were sent home by the school management, being suspected of causing the incident.
