Bogand©: FC Blacks Stars of Bantia emerged victorious in the grand finale of the inaugural Maracana Peace Tournament “Yanduama”, an event organized by the Bogand© Sports Association of Justice. The final match took place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, marking a significant occasion aimed at fostering peace and social cohesion through sport.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was spearheaded by the staff of the Bogand© High Court and the Maison d’Arrªt et de Correction. The event was patronized by Magistrate Yempabou Onadja, President of the Bogand© High Court, and sponsored by the director of the Bogand© MAC. The final match featured two teams from Bantia: FC Blacks Stars and FC L©gende. As the match ended in a stalemate, a penalty shootout determined the winner, with FC Blacks Stars clinching the title by a score of 1 goal to 0. The champions were awarded a trophy, a monetary prize of 50,000 CFA francs, and a ball. Other participants, including the top scorer, goalkeeper, and fair play team, also received accolades.

During his address, the president of the Bogand© High Court commended the tournament’s spirit of brotherhood and encouraged the community to maintain peace and solidarity beyond the sporting field. Inspector Madi Dabilgou, director of the MAC and sponsor of the tournament, applauded the successful organization of the event and reiterated his support for peace-promoting initiatives.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of notable figures, including Taugolo Par©, the prefect and president of the special municipal delegation of Bogand©. He emphasized that sport is a vital element for health and unity, urging residents to embrace peace as a core cultural value. His Majesty Yempaabou Lankoand©, Chief of the Bogand© canton, also graced the event, reinforcing the role of sport in fostering social cohesion and dialogue.

Samuel Wentoin Komdaogo, president of the organizing committee, expressed his satisfaction with the tournament’s proceedings. He acknowledged the dedication of the teams, the support from various authorities, and the enthusiasm of the spectators. Komdaogo highlighted that the event successfully laid the groundwork for an enduring sporting tradition dedicated to peace in the Gnagna province.

The “Yanduama” tournament, named after the Gulmantch©ma word for “peace”, has fulfilled its objective of promoting social harmony, according to the organizers. They aim to establish it as an annual event that continues to serve as a beacon of unity in the region.
