Ethiopia, Uganda Reaffirm to Further Enhance Collaborations on Regional Intelligence, Security Issues

Nairobi: The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has announced the launch of the distributed renewable energy and clean cooking Project Preparation Facility

The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) of Ethiopia and the Foreign Intelligence Institution of Uganda have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their cooperative efforts on regional intelligence and security affairs.

The two institutions have reviewed their joint activities being carried out in collaboration in a meeting they held in Addis Ababa today.

On the occasion, the two sides have evaluated the implementation and achievements of bilateral agreement reached between them to prevent and mitigate threats of security across East Africa region including terrorism, transboundary crimes, illegal armed groups and human traffickers. They also talked on how to improve their activities going forward.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director General of NISS, Tazer Gebregzabher and the Director General of Ugandan Foreign Intelligence Institute, Joseph Okello.
