Nairobi: The East African Community (EAC), Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources Committee members gathered at the co-operative house for a public hearing on the East African Seed and Plant Variety Bill, 2025. The event, which took place on 26th August 2026, aimed at engaging with the public for their insights and opinions on the proposed legislation.
According to Kenya News Agency, the committee members are actively seeking to incorporate public input into the bill, which is designed to regulate and promote the development of seed and plant varieties within the region. The public hearing provided a platform for stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural experts, and industry representatives, to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding the bill’s provisions.
