Agriculture CS Hon. Peter Munya today launched the 2021 Study report on cost of milk production in Kenya, which was commissioned by Kenya Dairy Board and undertaken by Tegemeo Institute of Agricultural Policy and Development. In his speech, CS Munya noted that the ultimate objective of any research is to implement its findings to improve livelihoods and wellbeing of stakeholders. He said that the report is very good, with good lessons and proposals for the Kenyan dairy industry.
Kenya, has already begun its implementation, with the gazettement of minimum producers’ prices on 26th February 2021, which were partly informed by the results of this study, he added.
CS Munya was joined by PS Livestock Harry Kimtai, MD Kenya Dairy Board Margaret Kibogy, Board Chairman KDB Anthony Mutugi and other key stakeholders.
