Kisumu: Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi has put grabbers of public land on notice, warning the law will soon catch up with them. Speaking at Gitwamba Primary School in Saboti Sub-county, Oyagi stated that the government will not tolerate any individuals attempting to use illegal means to acquire public land, regardless of their status. He criticized efforts by certain individuals to seize Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) and forest land in Trans Nzoia.

According to Kenya News Agency, Oyagi expressed surprise at how individuals could devise plans to defraud government property despite clear ownership by the government. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate such behavior and demanded an immediate cessation of these activities. Oyagi urged those with genuine claims to the land to come forward with proper documentation for engagement, while warning that documents obtained through fraudulent means would not be accepted.

As Kenyans prepare for the Christmas festivities, Oyagi called for moderation, reminding them of parental obligations when schools reopen next month. He also raised concerns about the increasing cases of defilement and teenage pregnancies, urging administrators and the public to ensure perpetrators are held accountable.

‘As a society, we have a responsibility to protect our children at all costs and nurture them accordingly. It is disturbing to note the increasing numbers of our children falling to sex pests. I urge our administrators to ensure that those behind these heinous acts are arrested,’ he said.
