Change Of Guard At The County Commissioner’s Office

The Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government has made changes in Busia County by transferring the current County Commissioner Dr. Ahmed Omar.
Dr. Omar has been moved to Narok County and was replaced by Samwel Ojwang’ who has been moved from Trans-Nzoia County.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony at Busia County Commissioner’s Conference hall, Omar hailed the local residents for according him cordial relationship and good working environment.
“I have called you here today to introduce the person replacing me, who is none other than Mr. Ojwang’, and has been to many more counties than me,” said Dr. Omar, urging his staff to give the new CC the necessary support to execute his mandate.
The outgoing CC cited various ongoing programmes that need to be pursued by his incoming counterpart with collaboration of government officials under him.
“I particularly thank DCCs and ACCs under me for the support they have given me throughout my tenure and I ask that they continue with the same level of co-operation and understanding to the incoming CC,” added Dr. Omar.
Incoming CC thanked his host for a warm reception, committing himself to continue with government responsibilities while urging all stakeholders to continue working together for the common good of Busia residents.
“I intend to work together with you seamlessly to deliver the National Government agenda. My style may be different, but work shall be done,” said Ojwang’.
He further encouraged the County Service Delivery Committee members to maintain teamwork to deliver desirable results for the people of Busia County.
“I will encourage a teamwork approach in my operations for the sake of Busia residents,” said Ojwang, adding that he will do his best to deliver.
Dr. Omar has served Busia County for seven months after replacing John Korir in January this year who is the current County Commissioner of Elgeyo Marakwet.
