Bungoma County Signs Agreements to Enhance Healthcare Delivery

Bungoma:Bungoma County has entered into partnership agreements with four organizations to enhance healthcare delivery, expand disability services, improve medical training, and boost data-driven decision-making.

According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Kenneth Lusaka oversaw the signing of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the County Cabinet Boardroom. The agreements aim to fill critical gaps in the health sector by collaborating with LifeNet International, Little Sisters of St. Francis, Cheshire Disability Services Kenya, Alphaone Medical and Business Training Institute, and AfyaAnalytics Research Limited.

LifeNet International will aid faith-based health facilities by providing clinical and management training, mentorship, and digital solutions to enhance care quality and institutional capacity. Little Sisters of St. Francis and Cheshire Disability Services Kenya will focus on early identification, assessment, and intervention for children and young people with disabilities, promoting inclusion and improving access to essential services.

Alphaone Medical and Business Training Institute will offer professional training in medical, clinical, and nursing fields, alongside training for emergency medical technicians. AfyaAnalytics Research Ltd will deliver healthcare data analytics to enhance the visibility and utilization of health information across counties in the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

The signing ceremony included Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany, members of the county executive, the County Health Management Team, and representatives from the partner organizations. Governor Lusaka highlighted that access to reliable health data would facilitate evidence-based planning and resource allocation to address service delivery gaps.

Lusaka described strategic partnerships as essential for mobilizing expertise, resources, and innovation to improve public services and promote sustainable development. However, he noted that the agreements require the development of implementation plans detailing proposed interventions and cost-benefit analyses to ensure practical outcomes.

The agreements reflect ongoing efforts by counties to collaborate with NGOs, training institutions, and private-sector entities to strengthen healthcare systems and improve access to essential services.
